Lucky pilot survives plane crash in northern Blanchar with clever maneuvering

This article was written by Yutska Daily Report (YDR).

Two days ago, on December 7th, 2024, air traffic control in Agutti, Floresta picked up emergency calls from a private plane that had just left their
airport ten or so minutes ago. The pilot expected to visit his friends in Verdshika, Blanchar, one of the biggest cities in the state. After a smooth
takeoff, the pilot began heading towards the city. Then, after about 10 minutes, the engine suddenly failed, and the plane quickly began to pivot
downward. Luckily, the steering on the plane was not affected, and the pilot was able to find a small field in the dense forest that he could safely
land in. When the plane crashed into the plain, the pilot suffered only minor injuries, and the plane was in somewhat decent shape. The pilot says
that he is "quite lucky" because of the unlikelihood of finding a good place to land in a dense forest. The pilot was transported to a local hospital
where his minor wounds were treated. Thankfully, no one else was in the plane.

Patrotion under threat of a major civil war

This article was written by This Just In (TJI).

Yesterday afternoon, at around 2:00 PM MPST, riots arose across western Patrotion demanding for better wealth inequality, as the western parts
of the nation have been poor for decades, compared to the thriving eastern areas with lots of people and money. Riots have occurred from this
issue before, but none on a scale this large has happened before. Over 10 western cities reported riots against the government, based in the
eastern parts of the country. Today, the leader of Patrotion was shot in the leg, likely due to this issue. Although he is fine, new groups are
beginning to form against the government in western Patrotion. In the city of Yestok, the largest city in that side of the country, riots have been
widespread, as even the wealthy individuals in the city see the problems that have arisen from this east-centric government. All of this has lead
to a very unstable nation that is bound to split into two at any point. It's not like this conflict will be solved diplomatically either, as the government
has expressed many signs of disapproval of wealth equality, and it tends to be an unnoticed issue in eastern parts of the nation.

The second winter storm of the season brings extreme cold
and lots of snow to Awakura and northern Yutska

This article was written by Heath's News

On Saturday November 16th, a large winter storm moved through Yutska, Tazarwa and Awakura. This storm brought widespread impacts across all 3 nations. In
Yutska, hundreds of thousands were left without power, specifically in the states of Pimestika, Floresta, Kylri and Blanchar. Yutska uses a special warning system
used for winter storms, where every winter storm gets a name and their own signal from 1 to 5. This winter storm was named Beau and there was a Signal 4
extreme warning for parts of east-central Floresta, where over 75 cm of snow fell at max. Closer to the coast, ~35-45 cm of snow fell. Of course, it wasn't just the
snow this storm brought, it also brought a cold front that made high temperatures in Pimestika & Floresta go from low 60s to mid 20s. In Awakura, the
newly-created nation just north of Yutska, also had significant impacts, recording around 40 cm of snow in some southern areas of the country. They also had
~100 thousand power outages. In Tazarwa, the impacts were pretty similar, though a tad bit more tame than areas near northern Yutska. Temperatures in areas
affected by the front are expected to have cold temperatures for the next week, maybe even longer. The whole country of Yutska was affected by the front,
though some areas far more than others. For example, in southern Escalades, there was a high of 62°F and a low of 29°F, due to the cold front moving in. A few
rural communities in Floresta are currently cut off from the rest of the world, but a new technology is being used in the area that uses drones to deliver vital
supplies to the area if necessary. These seem to be mostly effective, but it'll still take a while for ground vehicles to get to these places due to the extreme
amount of snow that fell that night.

Daffodil disease cause finally revealed,
and yes, it does have to do with its name

This article was written by Yutska Daily Report (YDR).

Remember the Daffodil disease that happened back in late August? Well, the reason for the disease has finally been revealed. Many people demanded for the
government to reveal the cause of the disease, though the government stated they had "good reason to keep it secret for now". Just 2 days ago, on November
1st, the vaccine for the disease was released nationwide. Although the vaccine isn't mandatory, it is recommended. Turns out, this disease has occurred in
humans before, but an outbreak began on August 23rd earlier this year, due to contamination of Hydrora's water supply. Although the water supply was quickly
repurified, the damage had already been done, especially considering how big Hydrora's tourism industry is. Only 22,598 cases were reported, all coming from
the contamination. The disease didn't directly kill anyone either, but it had some consequences for those infected. Namely sneezing, rashes around the ankle,
and more rarely, a fever. Luckily, the cases began to dwindle by the end of the month as everyone slowly recovered from the disease. Some protests broke out
after the disease demanding for the reason, but they were told to simply wait. The reason that Yutska's government has kept it a secret for so long is because
they were afraid someone would replicate the cause of the disease the same way it occurred. See, a daffodil somehow slipped into an extreme water burst
in Hydrora, and the Daffodil disease was on that flower. This disease was found to kill off bugs that tried to eat the daffodil plants native to Yutska. Now, you finally
know the reason why the Daffodil disease got into tens of thousands of people in Yutska but it never spread anywhere else.

Pod of rare pink dolphins spotted in Driftwood, Floresta

This article was written by Yutska Daily Report (YDR).

Dolphins on the northern coast of Yutska are common, but have you ever seen a pink dolphin? The last time a pink dolphin was spotted in
Yutska was in 2019, when beachgoers noticed a strangely-colored dolphin swimming in the ocean over in northern Ashippun. However, this has
finally changed! After 5 years, a pod of pink dolphins was spotted off the coast in the small city of Driftwood, Floresta. This is the 2nd time the city
has experienced such a sighting, with them witnessing another pink dolphin back in 2004, 20 years ago. There have only ever been 18 pink
dolphin sightings in Yutska, so having 2 of those sightings occur in a small city is quite unlikely. Residents from other nearby cities travelled in droves
to the city to see this rare sight. The dolphins stayed there for nearly 5 hours, allowing thousands of people to see them. The mayor of Driftwood
has stated "If more pink dolphins come to our beloved town, then we can consider ourselves blessed."

Yutska's new alliance
with Makista and Awakura
finally named

This article was written by This Just In (TJI).

Earlier today, the government of Yutska officially announced the name of the alliance between Awakura, Yutska, and Makista.
This alliance was officially created not long after the end of the Awakuran civil war, but now, it finally has a name!
This alliance is now going to be named YAM, as an acronym for Yutska, Awakura and Makista. Not to be confused with the vegetable grown elsewhere in the world.
This alliance is the first alliance that Yutska has participated in. While it is meant to be mainly an economic alliance, benefiting all nations in the alliance economically,
all members must support eachother in times of war as well. Speaking of which, Japanese learning has skyrocketed in all parts of Yutska, mainy due to
immigration and people wanting to just learn it in general. These language-learning techniques are becoming widespread quickly, though it is unlikely Yutska will become a polyglot society
like Makista and Awakura, where over 90% of the population in both countries speak English and Japanese.
